Interactive session with the television actress, model and make-up artist-Miss Karishma Rawat Sept 18, 2019

The campus to corporate club “Udaan” of The ICFAI University, Dehradun conducted an interactive session with the television actress, model and make-up artist Miss Karishma Rawat. The event was organized by Mrs. Aditi Singhal and commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Pawn Kumar Agarwal, Registrar Brig. Rajiv Sethi (Retd.) and Miss Karishma Rawat. Miss Karishma Rawat shared about her journey from a typical village girl from Uttarakhand to a super model in the cosmopolitan Mumbai. She also shared about the struggles she had to face due to language barriers. She said, “Life is a struggling cycle which teaches a lot and learning from those is an eternal process.”

Whilst attending to the queries put by the students she primarily focused on inspiring and igniting the young minds towards hard work. She said, “Explore your own talents within you because no one knows you better than yourself. External beauty doesn’t matter much. If you have the talent and can showcase it at the correct time then success is guaranteed. Getting demotivated while the pursuit of goal due to the struggling period is common but sticking to the ultimate aim and believing your talent makes you a dynamic personality.”

She drew the attention towards the beneficial use of social media and said “social media has been an effective tool to connect with people and to know their tastes and likings towards the ongoing trends. It helps us update ourselves with the contemporary trends .social media has been an excellent platform for each and every person to exhibit their talents to a wider audience. Students should be aware of online applications, softwares and social media platforms which can help them develop their skills through a faster learning process.” When asked by the curious audience about her favorite stars, she expressed her desire to work with the Tollywood Megastars Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan.

Further, she raised concerns about the importance of environmental conservation, Uttarakhand being a tourist spot. When asked about the difference between the real and reel life she said “the professional life in Mumbai at my “Karmabhoomi” does not allow the free and simple girl of “Devbhoomi” to ever get carried away in this materialistic world. Dehradun will always have a special place in my heart which gives me solace and peace of mind. Our values are our identity and the backbone of our personality.” The Student coordinators of the event were, Paridhi, Sachin, Arun, Garvit, Shrey, Tanay, Parinita, Kaushiki , Devanshi, Anubhav, Ananya, Anuraag & Gaurav.

The session winded up by presenting a token of honour to Miss Karishma Rawat by the mentor of the Campus to Corporate club “Udaan” Mrs. Aditi Singhal . The students also took several pictures and selfies with the actress.
