National Unity Day


National Unity Day October 31, 2018

National Unity Day was introduced by the Government of India and inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in 2014 to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel who played an instrumental role in keeping India united. Students of ICFAI Education School observed this day in the form of Seminar, Poster making and slogan writing.

Seminar presented by Sangita Kumari highlighted the early life, Education and freedom struggle of Sardar Ji as he acted as Supreme Commander-in-chief of Indian army during the political integration of India and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. He also promoted the Quit India Movement. He is well known by several names such as “Iron man of India”, “Unifier of India”, “Patron saint of India's civil servants” etc. One of the slides depicted the Statue of Unity dedicated to him, located in Gujarat. Various posters and slogans prepared by students depicted the essence of unity among people. Himanshu Joshi presented few facts on the life of Sardar Ji in his speech. Followed by which, Sunil Anand recited a poem on “Unity”. The program was organized by Ms. Atulya Verma and guided by Prof. Sarita Negi.
